Farmers do not agree with the increase in VAT on the supply of agricultural raw materials and organized a protest in front of the government.

Representatives of the largest associations of the agro-industrial sector of Moldova expressed dissatisfaction with the increase in the VAT rate on the supply of agricultural raw materials from 8% to 12%. As the executive director of the Association of Producers and Exporters Moldova-Fruct Iurie Fala noted, all agrarians, especially small and medium enterprises, will suffer from the increased tax burden. At the same time, the increase in VAT will hit the consumer as, due to the increase in taxes, ultimately food prices will rise. Representatives of agricultural organizations believe that it is necessary to form a working group with the participation of agricultural producers and processing enterprises in order to find an optimal solution to this issue. As a sign of disagreement with the tax policy measures for 2021, representatives of the National Federation of Farmers of Moldova, UniAgroprotect Association, Federation of Agricultural Producers Farm, Moldova Fruct Association, Table Grape Producers Association, National Association of Patronage of Milk Producers Lapte, Movca Association, Patronage of Meat Producers, Poultry Industry Union, the Poultry Patronage Association, organized a protest in front of the government building on December 2. // 02.12.2020 - InfoMarket.
