The Moldovan government supports the idea of conducting an audit at Moldovagaz, but opposes Gazprom's proposal to temporarily suspend Vadim Ceban, Acting Chairman of the Board, for this period - the Ministry of Energy
Energy Minister Dorin Junghietu stated this while answering journalists’ questions. He noted that Gazprom had questions about the management of Moldovagaz that had not been raised before, and they proposed conducting an audit of the company and temporarily suspending Vadim Ceban, Acting Chairman of the Moldovagaz Board, for this period. Gazprom sent the agenda of the Moldovagaz Supervisory Board with this issue and the proposed draft minutes of the Supervisory Board to Chisinau without consulting the Moldovan side, without which it is impossible to remove or dismiss members of the Board appointed under its quota. Dorin Junghietu stressed that the Moldovan side supports an audit of Moldovagaz's activities, but does not agree that it should be internal and advocates for an independent audit. In addition, Chisinau is against Gazprom solving its problems and misunderstandings with Moldovagaz's management on its own, and therefore does not support the temporary removal of Vadim Ceban from his position as head of the company. The head of the Ministry of Energy believes that Gazprom may not be satisfied with the fact that Vadim Ceban signed a contract with the state-owned company Energoсom, which became a supplier of natural gas to consumers on September 1, 2025. // 29.01.2026 — InfoMarket
