Maximum retail prices for petroleum products continue to fall in Moldova, reaching record lows in recent days in almost four years - the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE)
According to the National Agency for Energy Regulation, diesel fuel prices fell by 2.54 lei per liter, falling below 19 lei per liter, while gasoline prices fell by 1.42 lei per liter, reaching below 22 lei per liter, a record low for this product in nearly four years. The energy regulator notes that current price levels represent very low values for the fuel market; the last time the prices for both products were approximately equal was January 14, 2022, before the war in Ukraine began. As previously reported, the downward price trend is driven by the decline in international crude oil prices, which recently briefly fell below $60 per barrel, returning to around $62 per barrel in recent days. Under these conditions, on Christmas Day (New Style) and the following day, December 25 and 26, ANRE set the following maximum retail prices for the main standard petroleum products: COR 95 gasoline - 21.97 lei/liter (-10 bani); standard diesel fuel - 18.67 lei/liter (-6 bani). ANRE notes that it will continue to monitor the situation and developments on international oil markets, ensuring fair prices. // 24.12.2025 — InfoMarket.
