More than 500 wines produced by 66 Moldovan wineries were presented at the 25th anniversary Wine Vernissage in Moldova
The spring edition of the event was held under the slogan “Wine Vernissage. Our Pride,” with a focus on white, sparkling, and rosé wines characteristic of the spring-summer season, including those made from local varieties such as Feteasca Albă, Feteasca Regală, and Feteasca Neagră rosé. The event served as a platform to showcase the development of the wine industry, promote the “Wine of Moldova” brand, and facilitate networking among producers, oenologists, grape growers, and consumers. Visitors had the opportunity to explore products from both well-known wineries and new market entrants. Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Ludmila Catlabuga stated that the wine sector remains strategic for the country’s economy, creates added value and jobs, and contributes to promoting Moldova’s image in foreign markets. According to her, the ministry will continue to support producers and promote Moldovan wines abroad. Stefan Iamandi, Director of the National Office of Vine and Wine, noted that since the first Vernissage in 2011, when only 20 producers participated, the event has grown significantly, and with it, the country’s wine culture. According to him, in recent years, consumers have become more demanding regarding the quality, varieties, and origin of products. During the event, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu was presented with the “Knight of Wine” award for his contribution to promoting and strengthening the image of Moldovan wine. It is worth noting that the 25th Wine Vernissage kicked off a series of events dedicated to Moldovan wine in 2026, including National Wine Day, which will also be held for the 25th time this year. “Wine Vernissage” is a prestigious event dedicated to promoting wine culture and the consumption of quality wine in Moldova, held under the auspices of the national brand “Wine of Moldova. Unexpectedly Great.” The event was first organized in 2011 and is traditionally held twice a year—in spring and winter editions. // 18.05.2026 — InfoMarket.
