Moldovan wines at Wine Paris 2026 received high praise and attracted the attention of professionals from around the world – the ONVV
As announced by Stefan Iamandi, Director of the National Office of Vine and Wine (ONVV), 26 Moldovan wine companies, united under the umbrella of the country’s Wine of Moldova. The presence of the “Wine of Moldova” stand there confirmed our country's increasingly strong position in international markets. In this context, the ONVV team took part in 35 strategic meetings with international partners, importers, distributors, and specialized organizations to strengthen the recognition of Moldovan wine and expand opportunities for cooperation. Stefan Iamandi emphasized that the Wine Paris exhibition once again demonstrated that Moldovan wine attracts the attention of professionals from all over the world. “For us, participating in the world's largest wine exhibition is not just an event to strengthen our image, but a strategic investment in raising the profile of the “Wine of Moldova” brand and expanding export opportunities. Moreover, the high level of interest in the master class dedicated to Moldovan grape varieties and the dialogue with importers, journalists, and experts confirm our recognition and authority in international markets,” he said. During the three days of the exhibition, the “Wine of Moldova” stand was visited by important officials and international partners, including Moldova's Ambassador to France, Corina Calugaru, and the director general of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV), John Barker. The highlight of the program was a master class dedicated to Moldovan grape varieties, where all 105 seats were occupied by participants from different countries. The audience particularly appreciated wines from Moldovan varieties such as Viorica, Floricica, and Feteasca Alba, noting the aromas and expressiveness of the local terroir. Renowned wine journalist Thomas Brandl noted that interest in Moldovan wine at Wine Paris was remarkable. The master class dedicated to Moldovan wines was very popular, and discussions with industry professionals confirmed that Moldova is perceived as a competitive country. Moldovan wine has a personality and level of quality that attracts the attention of international markets. According to him, it is clear that Moldovan wine is strengthening its position on the world stage and has real growth potential in the coming years. Participants at Wine Paris 2026 were also impressed by the development of the wine sector and the stories of Moldova's wineries. During the exhibition, each of the 26 producers was given access to a personal account on the official Wine Paris platform, which allowed them to establish contacts with an international database of distributors and buyers, as well as to organize direct and effective business meetings. Participation in Wine Paris is part of the National Vine and Wine Office's long-term strategy to strengthen the international reputation of the national brand and expand exports to new markets.
