Unexpectedly great, will participate in Wine Paris, one of the world's most important platforms for the industry. This annual event brings together winemakers from leading wine regions, opinion leaders, sommeliers, and international buyers who determine their portfolios and purchasing strategies for the coming years. The highlight of Moldova's participation in Wine Paris will be the Wine of Moldova – Unexpectedly Great Indigenous Grape Varieties masterclass, which will take place on the last day of the exhibition and will showcase local grape varieties. After tasting eight wines made from the Fetească Albă, Fetească Regală, Fetească Neagră, Rară Neagră, and Viorica, participants will discover the authenticity of the local terroir. The master class will be led by international expert Thomas Brandl. At the same time, in March, Moldovan wine will be widely represented at ProWein Düsseldorf, the world's largest wine and spirits exhibition. There, 52 wineries from Moldova, including well-known producers and creators of branded wines, will present various styles of wine and have the opportunity to engage directly with importers, distributors, and industry professionals. According to ONVV, participation in ProWein opens up opportunities for Moldova not only to increase its visibility, but also to access global consumption trends, new markets, and sustainable commercial partnerships. Both exhibitions will feature tastings and presentations led by international sommeliers, dedicated to an in-depth study of the specifics of Moldovan wine. Stefan Iamandi, Director of the National Office of Vine and Wine, noted that the role of the ONVV is to bring Moldovan wine to international markets and gradually strengthen the reputation of the entire industry. According to him, participation in the Wine Paris and ProWein exhibitions confirms that these efforts are consistent and that Moldovan wine has reached a level of maturity that allows it to compete on equal terms with the world's largest wine-producing regions. “It is no longer just a matter of being noticed, but of strengthening, with each international appearance, confidence in the quality of Moldovan wine. It is all the more symbolic that these events are taking place in the year when we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the establishment of National Wine Day, a landmark event confirming the importance of the wine industry in Moldova,” Stefan Iamandi emphasized. According to him, expanding the international presence of Moldovan wine is important in a year of special symbolic significance. 2026 marks the 25th anniversary of National Wine Day, the only national holiday in the world dedicated to winemaking and Moldovan wine. Wine production is a pillar of national heritage and the economy, accounting for about 3% of GDP and 8% of total exports. // 04.02.2026 — InfoMarket
