Orange Moldova organized #ForGoodConnections Day 2026, an event dedicated to children’s digital safety and the balance between online and offline experiences

On Children’s Day, Orange Moldova organized #ForGoodConnections Day 2026, an educational and community event dedicated to children and parents, held at Orange Arena.

The event brought together 193 children from the “Football in Schools” programme, developed by the Moldovan Football Federation and supported by Orange Moldova as Main Partner, together with 86 parents from six districts of the Republic of Moldova.

What is #ForGoodConnections Day?

#ForGoodConnections Day is part of the international #ForGoodConnections initiative launched by Orange to promote healthy and responsible digital behaviour among children. At Group level, the initiative reflects Orange’s role as a responsible operator and focuses on encouraging healthier digital habits, reducing excessive screen time and combating cyberbullying.

How did the 2026 edition take place?

This year’s edition was built around a learning experience centred on a simple idea: children need to explore the online world with confidence, while also keeping space for play and offline activities. For the first time, the format also included a dedicated component for parents, so that the messages on digital safety could continue at home, through dialogue and attention to how children use technology.

Children took part in two main educational activities. The digital education workshop translated behaviours from the online environment into an experiential format, where participants could observe how certain actions spread, how peer pressure emerges and what role intervention can play in a difficult situation.

Through the D-Click Game, children explored scenarios inspired by digital life, addressing topics such as screen time, inappropriate content, fake news, cyberbullying, confidentiality and personal data protection.

Through these interactive activities, children strengthened their understanding of the consequences of their own actions online and became more aware of the importance of responsible behaviour, both in the digital space and in offline interactions.

#ForGoodConnections Day 2026, the second edition held in this format in Moldova, involved parents for the first time as an active part of the educational process. This evolution strengthens the educational dimension of the programme and extends its impact into the family environment, where many of children’s digital habits are formed.

In parallel, parents participated in the “Parenting in the Digital Age” workshop, facilitated by psychologist and psychotherapist Sergiu Toma, Executive Director of the Institute for Family and Social Initiatives (IFIS). The session addressed topics such as open communication about the online environment, the balance between control and autonomy, prevention of digital addiction and identification of risk behaviours, with a focus on the role of parents in shaping healthy digital habits among children.

Olga SURUGIU, CEO Orange Moldova:

Childhood today has two playgrounds: one where the ball brings teams together, and another where every click needs attention. The #ForGoodConnections initiative started in the Republic of Moldova last year and continues in 2026 as part of Orange’s commitment to supporting a healthy relationship between children and technology. Children need to explore the online world with confidence, while also keeping space for play and time away from screens. For us, continuity matters. Orange provides access to technology, and this access must be accompanied by education and balance.”

The event was organized by Orange Moldova together with the Moldovan Football Federation, which supported the participation of children from the “Football in Schools” programme network. Present at the event, Ion Poalelungi, Vice-President of the Moldovan Football Federation, spoke about how sport helps children develop discipline and collaborate more effectively.

The event also welcomed sports ambassadors supported by the National Teams Training Sports Centre: Irina Rîngaci, freestyle wrestler and multiple world and European champion, Andreea Stăvilă, athlete participating in national and international competitions, and Alexandru Solovei, freestyle wrestler participating in international and regional competitions.

The role of the ambassadors was to inspire the younger generation by promoting discipline, responsibility and the importance of respecting rules. They interacted with the children and spoke to them about the importance of making the right choices, both in sport and in the digital environment.

Orange Moldova volunteers were also involved in organizing the activities, as part of the company’s internal volunteering programme, “Ne Pasă”. They contributed to the games and workshops, providing direct support to children throughout the day.

The #ForGoodConnections initiative is implemented by Orange in more than 25 countries across Europe and Africa. In 2025, the programme reached more than 16,000 children aged 11 to 14, together with their families. In the Republic of Moldova, the initiative was launched last year, after which Orange volunteers, together with the Moldovan Football Federation, reached 15 schools across the country, where more than 350 children took part in interactive digital education and CyberSec sessions.

Through #ForGoodConnections, Orange Moldova continues to promote the responsible use of technology and to create formats in which children learn, through practical experiences, how to be more attentive, better protected and more balanced in relation to the digital world.
