ANSA has lifted enhanced controls on imports of packaged milk from Ukraine and will only inspect unpackaged consignments
The clarification was published by the National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) in response to media reports about tighter controls. The agency's press release notes that the order dated February 23, 2026, reduces the level of control over milk shipments from Ukraine, canceling enhanced monitoring of packaged milk. The agency recalled that imports of compound feed from Ukraine were temporarily suspended after the presence of metronidazole was confirmed in shipments detained at the border. In this context, controls on all shipments of milk, eggs, and egg products imported from Ukraine were tightened. “After testing a significant number of samples of both packaged and unpackaged milk, we have reduced controls on shipments. In the future, we will only test milk in large containers purchased for processing. We are continuing to cooperate with the Ukrainian veterinary authorities to resume exports and ensure safe products for all citizens,” ANSA reported. // 03.03.2026 – InfoMarket.
