Since 2024, 24 young veterinarians in Moldova have received state support amounting to more than 1.9 million lei
The National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) reminds young veterinarians of the financial assistance and benefits available to them under a support program approved by the government in 2023. The program provides for veterinary school graduates a one-time allowance equal to 15 average salaries in the economy, paid in three equal installments; compensation for housing rental costs or the provision of free housing by local authorities; compensation for electricity and heating costs (firewood, coal, or the equivalent in natural gas). Young professionals can work in the public sector—at the National Agency for Food Safety, the Republican Center for Veterinary Diagnostics, slaughterhouses, and other institutions—or in the private sector—on farms, in veterinary clinics and pharmacies, and in entrepreneurial activities. The condition for receiving support is a commitment to work for at least three years in one of the country's settlements, with the exception of Chisinau and Balti. According to ANSA, the measure is aimed at addressing the acute shortage of veterinary specialists in rural areas and regional centers. // 13.02.2026 – InfoMarket.
