Kronaero started providing ground handling services at Chisinau Airport on August 1

Prior to its arrival in Moldova, Kronaero operated for 2.5 years at Brasov-Ghimbav Airport in Romania, where it continues to provide services to Wizz Air. This experience laid the foundation for further partnership and expansion into Chisinau. Currently, Kronaero in Chisinau handles 36-37 flights per day operated by Wizz Air and FlyOne, providing passenger boarding and disembarkation, baggage handling, and aircraft maintenance and cleaning on the apron. Responding to a question from InfoMarket about the size of the investment, the company's founder, Romanian entrepreneur Ciprian-Mihail Oprescu, said that €6 million had been invested, primarily in equipment, with a further €4 million planned. The payback period is estimated at up to eight years, depending on passenger traffic growth at Chisinau Airport. Ciprian-Mihail Oprescu noted that the funds were provided by his family; his father owns Mountain Industrial Resources, a company that manufactures specialized aviation and airport equipment. Ciprian-Mihail Oprescu noted that in Moldova, investments and the origin of capital are subject to strict checks, and all investments in Kronaero have a transparent structure and come exclusively from family sources. Kronaero currently employs over 200 people, with another 60 expected to be hired in the near future. Given that Chisinau Airport handles around 100 flights a day, Kronaero's share of the handling segment is estimated at approximately 35%. Handling services at our airport are also provided by Airport Handling and MGH Ground Handling. Kronaero's management is confident that the positive growth trend in passenger traffic at Chisinau Airport (over 5 million passengers are forecast for 2025, compared to 4.1 million in 2024) will create opportunities for all players in the ground handling market to develop. At the same time, the company prefers to follow a path of gradual expansion. Kronaero was registered in Moldova in October 2024 and received official authorization from the Moldovan Civil Aviation Authority in July 2025. //01.08.2025 – InfoMarket.
