In May 2025, Chisinau Airport ranked third in terms of passenger traffic growth among medium-sized airports in Europe

Chisinau airport administration reported this, citing data from the ACI Europe report on air traffic dynamics. In particular, passenger traffic at Chisinau Airport remains stable at the European level, while showing remarkable growth dynamics. In the category of airports with an annual traffic of 1 to 10 million passengers, Chisinau Airport ranked third in Europe in May 2025, with a 41.9% increase in passenger traffic compared to the same period in 2024. This puts it just behind Vigo Airport (Spain, +472.7%) and Kutaisi Airport (Georgia, +49.3%). This impressive growth in passenger traffic at Chisinau Airport is the result of the continuous expansion of its route network and the number of airlines operating there. While in 2022 Chisinau Airport was connected to 20 airlines and 56 direct destinations, in 2025 the number of airlines increased to 29 and the number of direct destinations to 71. ACI Europe (Airports Council International Europe) represents more than 600 airports in 55 European countries, accounting for more than 95% of commercial air traffic in Europe. Chisinau Airport continues to offer enhanced connectivity and flexible travel options while consolidating its position as a strategic hub in the region. // 11.07.2025 — InfoMarket.
