Work continues on the Cantemir-Falesti railway section to restore the railway link between Moldova and Romania

Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea visited the construction site of Prut 2 station, accompanied by State Secretary Mircea Păscăluță, representatives of the Moldovan State Railway Company (CFM) and a delegation from the Romanian Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure led by State Secretary Irinel Ionel Scrioșteanu. The Cantemir-Fălciu section, approximately 4 km long, is strategically located on Moldova's border with the European Union. The restoration of the railway infrastructure, including the railway bridge and the border stations of Prut 2 (Moldova) and Fălciu (Romania), will provide an important alternative for the transit of goods in the context of diversifying Moldova's export routes. The Moldovan-Romanian delegation also took part in a meeting organized by the Cantemir District Council, where consultations were held on the development of feasibility studies and the identification of optimal locations for the construction of the Cantemir-Fălciu and Leova-Bumbăta road bridges. The dialogue between the local authorities of Moldova and Romania focused on identifying the most suitable route options to avoid possible difficulties in obtaining environmental agreements and to ensure better connectivity of settlements with future bridges and national roads. // 09.07.2025 - InfoMarket
