Moldova and Romania will implement a number of infrastructure projects in the transport sector

This was said during a meeting that Moldovan Infrastructure and Regional Development Minister Vladimir Bolea held with a Romanian delegation headed by Cristian Diaconescu, Presidential Adviser for Defense and National security of the Interim Romanian President. The discussions were also attended by State Secretaries of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Moldova Mircea Pascaluta and Nicolai Mindra, as well as Romanian Ambassador to Moldova Cristian-Leon Turcanu. During the meeting, the sides discussed the priority topics of the Moldovan-Romanian cooperation in the infrastructure sector. Among the main topics were: the construction of new bridges over the Prut, including the bridge in Ungheni, which will contribute to improving the communication between the two countries; the restoration of the railway on the Cantemir-Falciu section to facilitate the transport of goods and passengers between Romania and Moldova; the implementation of coordinated control on the railway section as a measure to improve the efficiency of the cross-border traffic; the digitalization of the railway infrastructure and the harmonization of the information systems with the European standards.
