SkyUp Airlines (Malta) is ready to open new flights from Chisinau Airport and increase the frequency of existing flights

According to the capital's airport administration, this was discussed during a meeting that the temporary administrator of the Chisinau airport, Sergiu Spoiala, held with representatives of the airline. Discussing the possibilities of a long-term partnership, they showed interest in opening new routes, increasing the frequency of flights and developing joint opportunities beneficial for both sides. The visit also included a tour of the airport to inspect the existing infrastructure and ensure it meets SkyUp's operational requirements and accessibility standards. SkyUp representatives emphasized that inclusivity is a very important aspect for the company. “We are encouraged by the prospects of cooperation with Chisinau International Airport and see significant potential here in the development of our flight network. We aim to offer passengers more travel options by opening new destinations and increasing the frequency of existing flights. At the same time, we pay special attention to providing inclusive and quality services so that all passengers - regardless of their needs - enjoy a comfortable stay both on SkyUp aircrafts’ board and at the airport,” said Daria Alekseyenko, Deputy Director of SkyUp. The management of Chisinau airport welcomed the openness and interest shown by SkyUp (Malta) and expressed confidence that this cooperation will bring long-term benefits to passengers and aviation industry of Moldova. It was emphasized that Chisinau Airport remains committed to developing strong partnerships with airlines for the benefit of society and the local economy. SkyUp Airlines is an international brand with Ukrainian roots that began operations in Ukraine in 2018, quickly becoming one of the country's leading airlines. Since the start of the war in Ukraine, the company has focused on wet leasing (ACMI - Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance, a form of lease in which one airline provides another with not only the airplane but also crew, maintenance, and insurance) and charter flights, actively expanding its presence in Europe. As noted at Chisinau airport, SkyUp unites 2 airlines: SkyUp Airlines, registered in Ukraine; and SkyUp MT Limited, registered in Malta. SkyUp specializes in both scheduled and charter flights, and also provides ACMI services. Since April, SkyUp has opened an operating base at Chisinau Airport and launched scheduled flights to cities in Spain, France, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, etc. SkyUp Airlines' fleet consists of 10 medium-haul Boeing 737 airplanes.
