In Moldova, the Green Card insurance certificate will be presented only in digital format from January 1, 2025
The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) announced this, noting that it will no longer be necessary to present it on paper. As the NBM emphasizes, thus, drivers of cars registered in Moldova can travel outside the country, in most of the member countries of the Green Card system, only if a digital certificate is available. The “Green Card” certificates issued before November 1, 2024 in printed form remain valid for the whole period indicated. At the same time, the National Motor Insurers' Bureau drew attention to the fact that 3 out of more than 40 countries participating in the Green Card system - Lithuania, Luxembourg and Portugal - have not yet adjusted their rules for an exclusively digital certificate. Therefore, drivers who will be traveling in these 3 countries must also have a printed version of the document. A Green Card insurance certificate is an international auto insurance document certifying that a vehicle owned by the driver is covered by compulsory motor third party liability insurance (external motor liability) when traveling outside the country of origin. //30.12.2024 - InfoMarket.
