2 tenders were announced to select contractors for the construction and repair of roads in Cahul district and in the town of Singerei.
According to the State Road Administration, with the financial support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), 2 international public tenders have been launched for construction works on 2 road sections. The first tender concerns the implementation of unfinished construction works on the M3 highway - bypass road near Slobozia Mare village in Cahul district. In 2018, the tender for the construction of the bypass road was won by the Turkish company Metag Insaat Ticaret AS, which was to build a road of about 18.3 km and 2 traffic circles. However, the company was unable to fulfill its obligations: by mid-2022, according to the State Road Administration, the company had completed only 40% of them. The funds for this project - more than 18 million euros - were allocated from a loan provided by the EBRD to the Moldovan government. The new tender is to select a contractor to complete this project - the winner should build a 16.6-kilometer bypass road, which should be a two-lane road with a width of 3.5 meters and 2.5 meters wide roadsides on each side. The second tender announced concerns the execution of rehabilitation works on Independentei Street in Singerei (stage II). In the summer of 2023, the overhaul of the street, which is about 7 km long, started there. Turkish company Onur Group won the tender for 8 million euros, which was supposed to perform stage I of the works. Applications for participation in both tenders can be submitted until June 24, more detailed information is available at the link: https://ecepp.ebrd.com/delta/noticeSearchResults.html. // 15.05.2024 - InfoMarket.
