Requirements are introduced for owners of right-hand drive vehicles to be able to travel on national roads.
The government has made corresponding changes to the road traffic regulations. In particular, right-hand-drive vehicles (except those in international traffic) must be equipped with special periscopic mirrors to provide better visibility on the left side. Vehicles shall also be equipped with headlamp converters to divert the light for driving on the right-hand side of the carriageway in the direction of travel, except for vehicles allowing manual or automatic adjustment of headlamp light direction. These requirements to equip or adapt headlamps for right-hand-drive vehicles will prevent the driver of an oncoming vehicle from being blinded. It will also increase visibility on the left side when overtaking other road users. The changes will come into force upon publication in Monitorul Oficial (the Official Journal of Moldova). // 08.05.2024 - InfoMarket.
