AAC: Preliminary results of the international audit have confirmed the high level of aviation security in Moldova and the efficiency of the implemented measures in this field.

The Civil Aviation Authority (AAC) said that these are the preliminary results of the aviation security audit within the USAP-CMA (Universal Security Audit Program - Continuous Monitoring Approach) of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which took place from September 5 to 15. The audit was conducted in order to assess the implementation and compliance of aviation security standards in Moldova in accordance with ICAO provisions. The audit examined the following areas: the regulatory framework governing aspects of aviation security; the quality of training of aviation security personnel; the supervision carried out by national inspectors; the security equipment used at Moldovan airports; and other aspects related to the implementation of ICAO standards. "The preliminary results of the audit reflect Moldova's strong commitment to ensuring aviation security at the level of the highest international standards. The percentage of implementation is higher than the previous time (+10 p.p.) when the audit was conducted and amounts to 80%. This is considered a very good result in the world. It demonstrates Moldova's determination to continue improving the level of aviation security of passengers, aircraft crews and the whole sector," the AAC said, stressing that the institution will continue its efforts to increase efficiency in the aviation security field. At the same time, the AAC urged all the parties involved and those responsible for aviation security in Moldova to continue cooperating and to fully implement the ICAO recommendations resulting from this audit. The final results of the audit will be presented in the next 60 days. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations, whose main objective is to develop the principles and methods of international civil aviation. ICAO promotes safety, efficiency, security and environmental protection in aviation worldwide. // 18.09.2023 - InfoMarket.
