In Moldova has begun the construction of a bypass road in Vulcanesti as part of an EBRD-financed €21.2 million project.

This was announced by the State Highway Administration, recalling that the work is being carried out by the Ukrainian company LLC Automagistral Pivden, with which a contract was signed on June 13, 2023 for the performance of relevant construction work on the M3 highway Chisinau-Comrat-Gijujulesti-border with Romania (bypass in the city of Vulcanesti). The construction of the 8.58 km route is financed by a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in the amount of 21.2 million euros. For the current year, the contractor has planned such works as clearing the construction site, excavation of the topsoil, the start of earthworks, the construction of a canal, as well as the transfer of all engineering communications included in the project. These activities are necessary to prepare the site and ensure the smooth progress of construction work. The project involves the construction of a new two-lane road with a length of about 8.58 km to the east and south of Vulcanesti. The works will include: construction of a 42 m long bridge at km 2965 and an overpass at km 4690; construction of new embankments on the section 2800 km - 8580 km; - reconstruction of the existing section of the road 0.100 km - 2800 km; arranging side access roads to agricultural fields and arranging an intersection with the regional road G142 Vulcanesti - Etulia. The M3 road is the shortest and most important route between Chisinau and Giurgiulesti, providing access to the Danube and the Black Sea. Also, the M3 corridor is an integral part of the European corridor E577 Poltava-Kirovograd-Chisinau-Giurgiulesti-Galati-Slobozia. The overall goal of the project is to reduce the cost of road transport and reduce travel time for road users in our country. This road infrastructure modernization project is funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and represents a significant step in the improvement of the road network, bringing significant benefits to all users of this strategic route. The Ukrainian company "LLC Automagistral Pivden" was selected to perform the work based on the results of the tender. The company has previously participated in the rehabilitation of other roads in Moldova. Works on the construction of a bypass road in Vulcanesti are planned to be completed within 3 years. // 09/06/2023 - InfoMarket // 06.09.2023 — InfoMarket
