Moldova has officially launched the EBRD-financed road repair project R14: R6 – Codrul Nou - Soroca - Unguri - border with Ukraine.

The State Road Administration reported this, noting that President Maia Sandu attended the event dedicated to the launch of the project, emphasizing its important role for Moldova's economic development. It is planned that the project, implemented with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, will significantly improve the access to the Soroca region and the border with Ukraine, thus stimulating the trade and economic development in the area. The Turkish company ONUR Taahhut Tasimacilik Insaat Ticaret Ve Sanayi A.S. was selected to carry out the works on the rehabilitation of the road R14: R6 – Codru Nou - Soroca - Unguri - border with Ukraine, km 92.620 - km 123.620 (first section). At the same time, the company Rutador from Moldova will fulfill the contract for the second section: R8.1: R8 - Arionesti - R14, km 0.00 - km 9.470. The length of the road section to be rehabilitated is about 40 km. IRD Engineering (Italy) will supervise the works and ensure compliance with the required standards and quality.
