Customers can apply to the Civil Aviation Authority if Air Moldova will not reimburse the money for the purchased tickets within 7 days after the suspension of flights.
The Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Lilia Dabija, said this at a briefing after the government meeting. She noted that the Civil Aviation Authority has mechanisms of refund support. Let us remind you that Air Moldova is obliged to reimburse the full cost of the ticket to all passengers who suffered from the cancellation of flights. Also the air carrier is obliged to provide a written notice to the sufferer (including electronic form), which would specify the rules for the money reimbursement. As InfoMarket agency earlier reported, on May 2 Air Moldova filed an application with the court to approve an accelerated restructuring procedure, which is an action plan aimed at preventing the bankruptcy of the airline, solving the existing problems and accepting investments. The restructuring procedure will allow attracting external investments. According to the airline's statement, investors are ready to invest in Air Moldova about $50 mln. These investments would solve the company's financial problems and replenish its own fleet. It is emphasized that investments in the airline cannot be made without an accelerated restructuring procedure because of the increased risk of attacks of the current creditors. Pending court decision regarding acceptance or rejection of the Air Moldova application, the company will suspend flights and sales of tickets, starting from May 2. The company shall resume its activity within 3 days, after the court decision. // 03.05.2023 - InfoMarket.
