The special working group will soon submit proposals to revise the fee of 9 euros charged per air passenger

This was stated by the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Lilia Dabija, answering journalists' questions at a press conference on Wednesday after a government meeting. She noted that the said working group includes representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, the Civil Aviation Authority, the Ministry of Finance and the Public Property Agency. Their proposed solutions will be announced shortly. Lilia Dabija did not provide other details. Regarding the problems with the cancellation of flights by Air Moldova, she recalled that the Civil Aviation Authority issued a number of instructions regarding Air Moldova, supervised it and called on the airline to submit a development plan, improve the situation, and before that, prevent long-term ticket sales. Lilia Dabija noted that the decision to revoke the license for Air Moldova has not yet been made, and all decisions regarding this airline are submitted by the Civil Aviation Authority. As InfoMarket agency reported earlier, on April 4, Prime Minister Dorin Recean instructed to develop a plan for the development of the Chisinau airport within a month and reduce the fee levied on passengers. He ordered this at a government meeting, recalling that the Chisinau International Airport returned to state control. In this regard, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers instructed the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Lilia Dabija, and the director of the Public Property Agency, Alexandru Musteata, to take the processes at the Chisinau airport under their personal strict control. "We need to put things in order there, to ensure the availability of as many flights as possible. To do this, we need to develop an airport development plan. We expect it within a month at the most," Dorin Recean said. He also noted that, as requested by Moldovan President Maia Sandu, it is necessary to transparently revise the fee of 9 euros currently levied on each passenger in a short time in order to reduce it as much as possible. "We need a transparent process with clear calculations and a clear goal - to reduce this fee. This must be resolved within a month," said Dorin Recean.// 26.04.2023 — InfoMarket.
