Tariffs for postal services Poșta Moldovei may increase from April 1, 2022.

Tariffs for postal services Poșta Moldovei may increase from April 1, 2022.

The National Agency for Regulation of Electronic Communications and Information Technologies has initiated public consultations on the draft of new tariffs for postal services in the field of universal postal services, provided by the state-owned enterprise Poșta Moldovei. The project proposes to simplify the classification of services, for example, to establish a single tariff for sending letters, postcards, printed publications, as well as to increase them by 54.6%. Local and Loco tariffs will be abolished, and tariffs for domestic parcels will decrease by 16.8% compared to existing ones. It was also proposed to reduce the tariff for the declared value - from 3% to 1.5%. In general, according to preliminary calculations, tariffs for domestic postal services will grow by an average of 53.3%. At the same time, it was proposed to increase the tariffs for international postal services Poșta Moldovei by 12.7%. Thus, the tariff for sending letters and postcards may increase by 15.8%, and parcels - by 3.1%. The project also proposes for the first time to introduce tariffs for the use of the Poșta Moldovei postal network, since the company has an obligation to provide other postal operators with access to the services of collection, sorting, transportation and distribution of mail provided by the state postal network. As noted in the explanatory note to the project, the tariffs for domestic postal services were last changed in 2022, and for international mail - in 2015.The new tariffs are calculated taking into account the company's expenses for the provision of universal postal services and are focused on improving the efficiency of Poșta Moldovei. It is noted that due to the economic crisis due to the pandemic, the situation in Poșta Moldovei has worsened - in 2020, the company's net losses exceeded 35 million lei. Earlier, the Accounting Chamber recommended to the management of the enterprise to change the tariffs for the provided services. New tariffs for Poșta Moldovei services have already been agreed with the founder of the enterprise - the Public Services Agency. After the completion of public consultations, which will last until the end of January, the tariffs are to be approved by the National Agency for Regulation of Electronic Communications and Information Technologies Administrative Council: https://cutt.ly/VIrcCtY. //11.01.2022 – InfoMarket.
