Moldova: the lump-sum allowance for young doctors employed in villages by distribution has been doubled - from 120 thousand to 250 thousand lei
According to the government decision, the allowance will be paid to young doctors, pharmacists and specialists with higher education in the medical field, who will be employed in villages by the Ministry of Health. The allowance will be paid to them in two installments: 120 thousand lei - after 6 months of work and 130 thousand lei - after the 3rd year of activity. In addition, young specialists will be compensated for the expenses for rent of housing and consumption of heat and electric energy during the first 5 years of work, and not during the first 3 years, as it was established earlier. The list of recipients of allowances and compensations will also include young specialists with a licentiate degree in medicine. These are doctors of optometry, general practice nurses, radiologic technicians with higher education, physical therapists and other specialists in the field. “A lot of investments have been made from the technical point of view in the medical system, and now we are also investing in human resources so that we have doctors in the villages,” Prime Minister Dorin Recean said. He recalled that the government also recently approved a regulation on the compensation of transportation expenses for medical and pharmaceutical workers who work outside the settlements where they reside. The measures approved by the government are aimed at making the medical sector more attractive and at retaining young specialists in the sector, especially in rural areas and regions. In 2023 there were 9638 doctors and 18929 medical workers with secondary education in the Moldovan healthcare system. There is a shortage of personnel, particularly in primary health care. // 30.10.2024 - InfoMarket.
