“Class of the Future” organized FIRST Tech Challenge Moldova 2024 – the first robotics competition among high school students
13 teams, formed by lyceum students from different localities of the country, took part in the competition. Participants demonstrated their engineering and programming skills by developing and testing 50x50cm robots using 3D modeled and printed parts, sensors, cameras and powerful motors. The robots were designed over a period of 2-3 months, and the teams competed directly on the playing field in pairs, divided into groups of 4 people. FIRST Tech Challenge, in addition to the development of robots, for lyceum students is also the development of STEM and engineering skills under the guidance of adult coaches and mentors. The participating teams also learned how to perform complex and innovative tasks. As a result of the competition, awards were received by the teams RoboRangers Moldova (Tekwill Academy Kids), ROBOTECH (Pushkin Lyceum, Chisinau), Sirius Socrate (Lyceum of Modern Languages and Information Technologies “Socrates”), INOTEK ROBOTICS (Inotek Foundation from Cahul), Force CEITI ( Center of Excellence in the Field of Information Science and IT, Chisinau), TehnoIuHas (Lyceum named after Iu. Hasdeu, Chisinau). The competition was held within the framework of the Future Technologies in Moldova (FTA) project, which is funded by USAID, Sweden and the UK. // 16.07.2024 — InfoMarket.
