The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office brought charges against the former head of the Public Property Agency Vladimir Baldovici.

The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office brought charges against the former head of the Public Property Agency Vladimir Baldovici.

He is accused of abuse of office and document fraud. According to the materials of the investigation, the former head of the Public Property Agency in the period from October 2018 to January 2019, abusing his official powers, together with the interim administrator of the agri-firm initiated the process of writing off part of the fixed assets of the company. For this purpose, he appointed representatives of the Public Property Agency to create a commission for assessing the assets of the said agri-holding and making proposals for writing off the fixed assets. Subsequently, abusing his position and duties, acting in the interests of the interim administrator of the aforementioned agricultural enterprise, the former director general of the Public Property Agency signed an act authorizing the write-off of 65 fixed assets with an initial value of over 32 million lei, although all the protocols of cancellation drawn up by the relevant company are dated prior to the date of the alleged authorization. In fact, it was found that such documents were not officially issued by the Public Property Agency and their content was distorted by a number of persons, including those under investigation, who acted in complicity and coordination. As noted by the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, the criminal investigation into the case is not complete, and the public will be duly informed about the progress of the criminal investigation and the decision taken when making appropriate procedural decisions. // 17.06.2022 - InfoMarket
