No increase in radiation levels was recorded following the fire at the Zaporizhzhia NPP, there is no danger to the population, and the level of radiation on the territory of Moldova has not been exceeded either.

The Ministry of the Environment of Moldova reported this, noting that as a result of armed clashes in the area of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant near Energodar (about 550 km southeast of Kyiv), a fire broke out in one of the buildings of the energy complex. The fire was quickly extinguished and has now been completely liquidated. According to a Reuters report, the building affected by the fire does not belong to the technological part of the nuclear power plant. It houses a training building for staff training. The International Atomic Energy Agency reported that the level of radiation in the area does not exceed the norm, the situation is constantly monitored. The data of the Ministry of Environment of Moldova show that the level of radiation on the territory of our country is not exceeded. The agency will continue to monitor the level of radiation and regularly inform citizens in case of changes in the radioactive background.
