During the pandemic, employers can take advantage of several support measures offered by the state.

The head of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, Marcel Spataru, during a press conference, recalled the mechanisms that were developed to support businesses and maintain employment during the coronavirus pandemic. So, all workers can take 2 days off after the introduction of each dose of the vaccine. The expenses of employers for these days are covered by the state at the rate of 558 lei per day (assuming that the average predicted salary for 2022 is 9900 lei). To receive paid holidays, the employee must write an application to the employer and present a certificate of vaccination. Another measure is the provision of days off for employees who have children under the age of 12 and children with disabilities during the period of online learning. 50% of the daily salary of one of the parents will be compensated from the state budget, but not more than 150 lei per day (at the rate of 4050 lei per month). The rest of the salary can be compensated by the employer if desired. A similar mechanism and amount of compensation is provided in the event of technical downtime at enterprises. The state also compensates 50% of the average salary in the economy for employees of companies that have declared technical downtime, which can last from 3 to 5 months within one calendar year. To receive compensation, employers must submit the relevant electronic applications on the website declaratie-electronica.fisc.md. Compensations and subsidies from the state budget are transferred by the State Tax Service, the National Social Insurance Agency and the National Employment Agency, depending on the requested support measure. As Marcel Spataru noted, the ministry developed support measures after consultations with business associations, patronages, and representatives of civil society. According to him, despite the fact that some of the measures started operating at the end of the last year, the number of applicants is still insignificant. He urged economic agents to use the support mechanism, specifying that about 200 million lei are reserved for these purposes in the state budget for 2022. // 21.01.2021 – InfoMarket
