The Ministry of Health has published a new, VII-th national clinical protocol for the treatment of coronavirus.
The new document was developed taking into account the current recommendations of the World Health Organization and will be used to develop clinical protocols in all medical institutions in Moldova, based on their real capabilities. The protocol is supplemented with information about the new strain of coronavirus "omicron", its clinical symptoms are described (fever, cough, weakness, general fatigue, muscle and headache, sore throat, rhinorrhea, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, altered mental state). The concepts of “additional” and “booster” doses of the vaccine have been introduced, the chapter on non-specific prophylaxis has been updated - it differs for vaccinated and unvaccinated citizens. So, unvaccinated citizens who had contact with infected people will have to be quarantined not for 14, but for 10 days. Quarantine may be terminated on day 5, upon receipt of a negative PCR or rapid antigen test. Vaccinated citizens who have had contact with the infected will not be quarantined, but they will be monitored (they are required to wear a mask, maintain physical distance and hand hygiene, otherwise they may be placed in standard quarantine), and on day 5 they can take a PCR test or a rapid antigen test to make sure they are not contagious. Persons who have been ill with coronavirus within the last 90 days and do not have clinical signs of the disease will not be quarantined. The release from the hospital for unvaccinated asymptomatic patients without a coronavirus test is reduced to 7 days after receiving a positive test for COVID-19, for vaccinated patients - up to 5 days. Vaccinated patients with mild and moderate forms of coronavirus will be able to return to work or school without a test 7 days after the onset of clinical signs of coronavirus, unvaccinated patients after 10 days. Two new antiviral agents, Paxlovid and Molnupiravir, have been added to the coronavirus treatment protocol, in addition to the already used Remdesivirum, Favipiravirum and Tocilizumabum. The Ministry of Health does not recommend prescribing antibiotics, antiplatelet agents, anticoagulants and corticosteroids to asymptomatic patients, or with mild forms of coronavirus, or with mild pneumonia, including during home treatment, and also urges to avoid repeated unreasonable prescription of antibiotics. // 24.01.2022 — InfoMarket.
