Parliament will hold public hearings on February 14 on the application of the provisions of the Building Permit Act.

The Parliamentary Commissions for Public Administration and Regional Development and for National Security, Defense and Public Order announce public hearings on the application of the provisions of the Law on the Issuance of Permits for Construction Works and the Government Decree on Approval of the Rules for the Acceptance of Construction Works and Related Structures. According to the press service of the Parliament, during the hearings it is planned to discuss a legislative initiative to abolish the maximum fee fixed in the law for the issuance of an urban planning certificate for design or information urban planning certificate, which the customer is obliged to pay annually (50 lei), as well as the maximum amount of the fee for issuing a permit for construction/demolition (up to 100 lei). It was also proposed to discuss the acceptance of construction work that can be performed without an urban planning passport for design and without a building permit. Another issue concerns the quality control of construction in the municipality and unauthorized constructions in the municipality of Chisinau, which were reported to law enforcement agencies. Representatives of ministries and departments, Chisinau Mayor's office, the Congress of Local Authorities of Moldova are invited to participate in the hearings.
