The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported this, noting that 2301 (67.8% of the total number) of permits issued last year were for residential buildings and 1093 (32.2%) - for non-residential. At the same time, the number of permits for residential buildings decreased by 24% in January-December 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, and for nonresidential buildings increased by 0.1%. According to the NBS, 1517 permits were issued in 2022 for residential and nonresidential construction in urban areas (44.7% of the total) and 1877 permits were issued for construction in rural areas (55.3%). At the same time, compared to the previous year, the number of issued permits for construction in urban areas decreased by 37.6%, and in rural areas - increased by 11.2%. In 2022, the highest number of permits for construction of residential buildings was traditionally issued in Chisinau municipality - 1118 against 1690 units a year earlier (-572 units or -33.8%). In the Northern region, the number of permits for construction of residential buildings dropped from 298 to 241 units (-57 units, or -19.1%). In the Central region it has decreased from 656 to 605 units (-51 units or -7.8%), while in ATU Gagauzia- from 207 to 158 units (-49 units or -23.7%). At the same time, in the Southern development region this index has increased from 175 to 179 units (+4 units, +2.3%). According to official statistics, the number of permits for non-residential construction in Chisinau municipality in 2022, compared to 2021, has increased from 172 to 193 units (+21 or +12.2%), in the Northern region has increased from 254 to 267 units (+13 or +5.1%), and in the Southern region - from 151 to 206 units (+55 or +36.4%). At the same time, the number of licenses issued for construction of nonresidential premises in the Central region has decreased from 316 to 274 units (-42 units or -13.3%), and in ATU Gagauzia - has decreased from 199 to 153 units (-46 units or -23.1%). // 30.01.2023 - InfoMarket
