The draft government decree on the approval of the Land Cadastre was considered at a meeting in the State Chancellery. According to the project, the total area of all land in the country, regardless of purpose and form of ownership, as of January 1, 2022, amounted to 3 million 384.9 thousand hectares, including 2 million 260.8 thousand - agricultural land; 450.6 thousand hectares - lands of the forest fund, 316.07 thousand hectares - lands inside settlements, 205.3 thousand hectares - lands of the reserve fund, 87.95 thousand hectares - lands of the water fund, 60 thousand hectares - lands of industrial, transport and other special purposes, 4.1 thousand hectares - lands on which nature protection facilities and facilities for recreation and health support are located. Over the past year, the area of irrigated land in Moldova decreased by 2.01 thousand hectares - to 215.9 thousand hectares, as well as drained land - by 350 hectares - to 57.85 thousand hectares. In 2021, the area of forest fund lands decreased the most - by 43.8%.
