Maximum export capacity of electricity from Moldova and Ukraine to EU countries increased to 900 MW – Ministry of Energy
As noted by the department, Moldova accounts for 15% of this capacity (135 MW). Increasing the maximum export capacity from 650 to 900 MW will facilitate the balance of the energy system and allow Moldovan producers of renewable electricity to export more and receive additional profit. As of the end of May 2025, the total installed capacity of power plants operating on renewable energy sources reached 689.17 MW, with more than 109 MW installed in just 5 months. Almost half of the capacity is being developed with the help of state support mechanisms: net metering, fixed tariffs, the Law on Renewable Energy Sources, and increasingly they are selling energy on the open market. "This is a clear signal that renewable energy is becoming a viable and attractive option for investors," the Ministry of Energy emphasized. // 03.07.2025 – InfoMarket.
