In Moldova, renewable energy currently accounts for the largest share of local energy production, and its price is lower than that of energy from traditional sources - Ministry of Energy
This was announced by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Carolina Novac, speaking at the Moldova Energy Forum 2025 in Chisinau. She emphasized that this debunks the myths about the high prices of renewable energy and the instability it creates in the energy system. The average price obtained in the first auction is 60 and 66 euros per MWh for photovoltaic and wind installations, respectively, and is competitive with the price of energy generated by natural gas. As Carolina Novac noted, at the same time, the Ministry of Energy will launch a second auction this year for wind power plants with a capacity of up to 173 MW, which is the result of previous modeling, together with about 22 MWh of batteries. The Ministry of Energy organized the Moldova Energy Forum 2025 in partnership with The Voice of Renewables magazine and the Energy Community Secretariat. // 12.06.2025 — InfoMarket
