The cost of diesel fuel decreased to 18.40 lei per liter for the first time in the last 3 years - NAER
According to the National Agency for Energy Regulation, this happened against the backdrop of the trend of oil cheapening on international markets, combined with the strengthening of the national currency against the US dollar. The current price of diesel is comparable to the price of January 2022 - the period before the war in Ukraine and the ensuing energy crisis in Europe. Compared to the peak prices recorded earlier this year, the price of COR 95 gasoline has decreased by 2.56 lei/liter, while diesel has decreased by 3.31 lei/liter. “The current decrease in fuel prices demonstrates the efficiency of the mechanism used by NAER to set prices for petroleum products, which allows to accurately reflecting the international market trends on the panel of gas stations, both in periods of price increases and decreases. Consumers in Moldova pay a fair price that corresponds to the economic realities of the day when they buy fuel,” NAER assures. For April 19-22, the agency set the maximum retail prices for COR 95 gasoline at 22.23 lei/liter (-8 bani); for standard diesel fuel at 18.40 lei/liter (-7 bani). //18.04.2025 - InfoMarket.
