Energocom has purchased a total of 26.5 million cubic meters of gas for Transnistria with an EU grant of 20 million euros at a price of almost 600 euros per 1,000 cubic meters

State-run Energocom stated this, noting that, in particular, from February 1 to 10, Energocom purchased 26 million 456 thousand cubic meters of gas for the Transnistrian region, according to the requests of Tiraspoltransgaz and the order of the Commission for Emergency Situations. For these purchases, the 20 million euros allocated for the eastern regions of the country from the emergency grant provided by the European Union to Moldova were fully utilized. The gas purchase price amounted to about 57 euros/MWh (almost 600 euros per 1,000 cubic meters). To this price are added regulatory fees, other taxes, as well as logistics and transportation costs, which in some cases can reach almost 25% of the purchase price. Gas purchase transactions were carried out on the exchanges in Romania and Bulgaria. Energocom explained that the data on gas supply volumes are preliminary and must be certified by the transmission system operator. // 12.02.2025 - InfoMarket
