More than 705 thousand households received compensation for energy expenses in January, with the average amount of compensation amounting to 1,000 lei
At a news conference on Tuesday, Labor and Social Protection Minister Alexei Buzu said that 706 million lei was allocated from the state budget to compensate 705,181 households with more than 1.4 million people - 211 million lei more than in December. According to the Minister, about 20 thousand new beneficiaries have registered in the compensation system (Ajutor la contor/Help at the Meter). A total of 1.5 billion lei has been allocated for the payment of compensations since the beginning of the heating season. He specified that the compensations started to be paid on February 10: the beneficiaries who receive payments on cards have already received the payments, while the rest of the citizens can collect the money in Poșta Moldovei (Post of Moldova) branches. Alexei Buzu reminded that the payment for January has increased, as it includes 2 components: payments depending on the heat source (from 500 to 1400 lei) and compensation for the increase in the electricity tariff (the first 110 kWh of electricity are compensated). At the same time, if in December the average compensation for heating amounted to 625 lei, in January it increased to 1000 lei. At the same time, Alexei Buzu said that starting from February, thanks to the EU assistance, the increase in the electricity tariff will be compensated to all citizens, regardless of whether they are registered in the compensation system or not. At the same time, the compensation for electricity will be reflected directly in the receipt. Compensation for heating will continue to be paid in cash, its amount is not planned to change. // 11.02.2025 - InfoMarket.
