In addition to the compensation program for entrepreneurs, the Moldovan government will announce measures to stimulate their energy efficiency in order to reduce energy consumption

This was announced by Prime Minister Dorin Recean during a meeting with members of the largest business associations with foreign capital in Moldova - the European Business Association, the Foreign Investors Association, and the American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova. As reported by the government's press service, the interlocutors discussed the current situation in the energy and economic sectors, as well as what measures the government needs to take to support the business environment. Touching upon the situation in the energy sector, the prime minister emphasized that the existing risks are manageable, including with the support of external partners, as well as with the participation of energy companies, including mobilized renewable energy producers. Dorin Recean also added that, in addition to the compensation program for entrepreneurs, the government will announce measures that will stimulate energy efficiency, namely in terms of reducing electricity consumption, and not just reducing the cost of paid bills. "We still consume too much energy per unit of production. Our goal is to increase productivity," said the head of the Cabinet. The interlocutors also noted the need to create prerequisites for increasing the share of renewable energy produced and investments in balancing capacities. Representatives of business associations emphasized that in the current situation, it is important to ensure the predictability of the business environment, which will allow them to plan their activities. The discussion focused on continuing to simplify the interaction of the state with the business environment, digitalization of processes, development of financial services, legislative provisions regarding immigration for work, aspects related to customs clearance of goods. In addition, the process of transferring European standards into national legislation was analyzed, emphasizing the fact that this process is happening gradually in order to provide an opportunity for adaptation to all interested parties. Representatives of the business environment noted that they are not only an interested party in this process, but also partners in the implementation of all reforms.// 30.01.2025 — InfoMarket
