The government's EVO e-services app will have a new module that will make it easier for companies to receive electricity compensation

This was announced by the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, noting that they will be able to submit applications for compensation quickly and easily, in a maximum of 5 minutes. To ensure that the process is smooth, a series of tests will be carried out before receiving the invoices for January to ensure that the system works flawlessly. The new module will automatically appear in the invoices of administrators and those authorized to manage more than 16,000 companies eligible to participate in the electricity tariff increase compensation program. It will cover up to 50% of the increase in electricity tariffs for 3 months. Compensation will only be provided for premises used exclusively for production. If separate accounting is not possible, the application will be submitted on the basis of a single invoice. In addition, beneficiaries will be able to choose the bank account to which they want to receive the money, which will give them greater flexibility and control. It was previously reported that, according to the decision of the Commission for Emergency Situations of Moldova, the government will allocate 60 million lei to compensate economic agents for the difference in the price of electricity after the increase in tariffs for it. In particular, economic agents of the food sector and the processing industry will receive compensation in the amount of up to 50% of the increase in the tariff for electricity for a period of 3 months. The decision is intended to provide assistance to domestic producers and support their competitiveness. Companies that meet the criteria will be notified through the government portal MCabinet/EVO about the possibility of receiving compensation. After that, economic agents will be able to apply for compensation in a special section on the government portal. The deadline for submitting requests for compensation is 10 days from the date of issuing the electricity bill. After checking the received applications and the data provided by the companies, the compensation will be transferred through the state electronic payment service MPay. To compensate for the difference in electricity supply prices for the period from January to March 2025, 60 million lei will be allocated from the Government Intervention Fund. EVO is an integrated government application that simplifies citizens' access to public services. The application, officially launched on June 6, 2024, offers access to digital documents, information about citizens and businesses, the possibility of paying for various services, and now the possibility of making an appointment. To access all EVO functions, citizens need an electronic signature. Anyone can choose between a mobile electronic signature (offered by Orange or Moldcell) or a signature on a USB stick. Users are advised to set up two-step authentication or install the EVOSign application for quick access and authentication after receiving the electronic signature. The EVO application is available free of charge on iOS and Android. The application was developed with the support of development partners: the Technologies of the Future project, funded by USAID, Sweden and the United Kingdom, together with partners Ukraine Moldova Enterprise Fund, the World Bank and UNDP Moldova. Digitalization of public services and simplified access to services are part of the Digital Transformation Strategy of Moldova, the goal of which is to develop a 100% digital society.// 28.01.2025 — InfoMarket
