
The United States will support Moldova in the current energy crisis
This was announced by the US Chargé d'Affaires in Moldova Kevin Covert during a meeting with Moldovan Energy Minister Victor Parlicov, at which the parties discussed the security of natural gas and electricity supplies this winter in the context of the global evolution of energy prices and the regional situation, as well as the ministry's plans in this matter. According to the Ministry of Energy, the prospects for providing the population of the left bank of the Dniester with energy resources were also discussed if Gazprom does not fulfill its contractual obligations after January 1, 2025, when the contract for the transit of natural gas through Ukraine expires. Another topic raised concerned the Ministry of Energy's assessments of the necessary financial assistance from Western partners to manage a possible regional energy crisis.
