The tender for the construction of wind and photovoltaic parks in Moldova with a total capacity of 165 MW will be announced this week.
This decision was adopted by the tender commission headed by Energy Minister Victor Parlicov. The commission approved the tender documentation, which will be translated into English and published for potential investors. Before the launch of the tender, many rounds of public discussions were organized with the participation of private companies and business associations interested in the industry, which presented their position on improving the conditions for participation and conduct of the tender. As noted by the Ministry of Energy, through this auction, investments of about 190 million euros are expected in the construction of wind and photovoltaic parks. Once the power plant connection process is completed, the share of energy produced from renewable sources is expected to increase from 10% to 16.6%, which will greatly contribute to the commitment to increase the share of the country's total consumption to 27% by 2030, a target established in the Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan, developed with EU support. According to simplified participation requirements, tender winners will receive a fixed price for the electricity produced, guaranteed for 15 years. The guaranteed fixed price will be determined during the auction, but it cannot exceed the maximum price of 1.5 lei/kWh for wind energy and 1.67 lei/kWh for solar energy established by the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE). A total capacity of 165 MW has been allocated for large renewable capacity, divided by technology – 105 MW for wind and 60 MW for photovoltaics. Submission and acceptance of applications, technical and financial proposals is expected from September. // 01.07.2024 — InfoMarket
