Prices for gasoline and diesel fuel continue to rise in Moldova against the backdrop of increased quotations on them on international exchanges - ANRE.
The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) reported this, noting that, starting from the second half of June, fuel prices registered a moderate increase, which was within a corridor ranging between 2%-6%. Factors that influenced the level of retail prices for basic standard petroleum products in the previous month were: an increase in Brent (+10%) and Platts quotes (+8% for gasoline and +13% for diesel fuel) as a result of increased consumption, dictated to a greater extent during the summer holidays; weakening of the national currency against the US dollar (+1.8%); increasing from July 1 of the size of the specific trading margin for the retail sale of basic standard petroleum products by 3.5% due to the level of inflation. As noted by ANRE, at the same time, the increase in fuel prices in recent days does not represent a systemic phenomenon, but rather demonstrates the characteristics of market recovery after a period of falling prices that lasted about 2 months. The Energy Regulator recalled that in April the selling price of gasoline reached 26.4 lei per liter, and diesel fuel – 22.32 lei per liter, and subsequently it decreased to 24.12 lei per liter of gasoline and 20.35 lei per liter of diesel fuel. Under these conditions, for tomorrow, July 2, the maximum retail prices for basic petroleum products of standard type were set by ANRE at the following level: gasoline COR 95 - 25 lei per liter (+19 bani); standard diesel fuel - 21.77 lei per liter (+19 bans). ANRE notes that it continues to closely monitor developments on international oil exchanges and assures consumers of the correctness of the daily calculation of prices set for fuel purchases. // 01.07.2024 - InfoMarket.
