
USAID in 2023, through the MESA project, invested $1.3 million to purchase 53 emergency power generators for Moldova.
As noted in a message from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the generators have a total capacity of more than 4 MW. received by Moldovan institutions providing basic social services. In particular, 22 hospitals in Chisinau and 10 settlements received these electricity generators: Comrat, Basarabeasca, Balti, Telenesti, Drochia, Rezina, Edinet, Singerei, Stefan Voda and Ungheni, as well as the enterprises Moldelectrica, Termoelectrica, CET-Nord, Apă -Canal Chișinău. Thanks to US support, today hospitals in Moldova and basic infrastructure are equipped with autonomous power supplies, and Moldovan citizens will have guaranteed basic medical services, water supply and heating in their apartments in the event of mass power outages.
