ANRE explained the difference in the price of electricity supplied to end consumers by Premier Energy and FEE Nord.

The report of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) notes that of the total volume of electricity supplied, consumers in the northern Moldova, served by FEE Nord, receive 28%, while consumers in the central and southern Moldova, served by Premier Energy, receive 72%. Accordingly, the higher the volume, the lower the final price for consumers. Another factor in the difference is the distribution tariff (use of electric grids). There are 493,000 places of consumption served in the north and 939,000 places of consumption in the center/south of the country; accordingly, distribution costs are 54% higher in the north compared to the center/south. Besides, the amount of electricity supplied by FEE Nord has recently decreased by about 14%, and accordingly, the cost per kWh is higher there. As InfoMarket News Agency earlier reported, since April 13, new, reduced electricity tariffs for consumers have taken effect in Moldova. The domestic consumers of Premier Energy, whose power installations are connected to low-voltage (0.4 kWh) distribution power lines, have had their prices reduced by 12.6% - from 3.42 to 2.99 lei/kWh, while those of FEE Nord - from 3.84 to 3.58 lei/kWh (-6.8%). // 14.04.2023 - InfoMarket
