The procedure for partial compensation of expenses of economic agents for natural gas consumed in the first quarter of 2023 was approved.

On March 14, Monitorul Oficial published and the Regulation entered into force on the procedure for compensating natural gas to non-residential consumers, approved by order of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization last week. The document stipulates two mechanisms for partial compensation of natural gas consumed by non-residential consumers. Thus, compensation to non-residential consumers (individuals and legal entities) for the first monthly consumption of 500 cubic meters of natural gas will amount to 12.27 lei per cubic meter without VAT. It will be paid regardless of whether the consumer has an agreement for the supply of gas to several places of consumption or several agreements for the supply of gas to different places or regions of Moldova. At the same time, non-residential consumers from some sectors of the economy with increased gas consumption, who have no sales in the first quarter of 2023, or the cost of paying for consumed gas is at least 5% of the cost of supplies of goods and services in the corresponding month, will be able to receive compensation from calculation of 12.27 lei without VAT per cubic meter of gas, but within the limits of 1.5 million lei per month. The compensation for the first monthly consumption of 500 cubic meters is excluded from the amount of compensation. This mechanism will be available to enterprises engaged in the production of bread and fresh pastries, dairy products and cheeses, raising poultry and pigs, processing vegetables and fruits, production of clothing and knitwear, glass, carpets, paper and cardboard, etc. To receive compensation, non-residential consumers must submit an application to the electronic reporting single window (raportare.gov.md) by completing the CCG22 form. Applications can be submitted until May 12th. The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization will finance the cost of compensating the price of natural gas supplied to non-residential consumers. Recall that the government planned to allocate 230 million lei from the Intervention Fund to provide compensation to non-residential consumers of natural gas.// 14.03.2023 — InfoMarket
