ANRE has increased the tariffs for thermal energy supplied to consumers by Termoelectrica by 25.3% - up to 3577 lei per gigacalorie.

At the same time, the regulated price of electricity produced by Termoelectrica was reduced by 61 bani per kWh (-14%) to 393 bani per kWh. A decision to this effect was made on Tuesday by the Management Board of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE). According to ANRE, the main objective factors that have caused the revision of thermal energy rates for Termoelectrica customers and the price of generated electricity are: the need to apply the current regulated price of natural gas purchased by Termoelectrica, which is currently 37% higher than the average price included in the current rates; inclusion in the tariff/regulated price of expenses for fuel consumption in the form of fuel oil, necessary for technological purposes of energy production; changes in the parameters of the production program included in the current tariff structure, as a result of the Production Program planned and approved by ANRE for 2023. ANRE stated that it performed tariff adjustments in order to ensure Termoelectrica financial soundness, avoid bankruptcy and ensure the continuous supply of heat to consumers. ANRE assured the citizens that all the calculations are correct, so that the tariffs paid by the final consumers are correct and ensure the security of energy supply to the population. The new prices and tariffs will take effect on the date of publication in Monitorul Oficial (the Official Journal of Moldova). In addition, ANRE informs residential consumers of centralized heating that they will be compensated for their heat bills, according to their category of energy vulnerability. The last time the tariffs for heating services in Chisinau were adjusted on October 1, 2022 when the tariffs for thermal energy, supplied to Termoelectrica consumers, were increased by 31.6% - from 2169 to 2854 lei per gigacalorie. // 28.02.2023 - InfoMarket
