
OPCOM, the electricity and gas market operator in Romania, may become operator of the electricity market in Moldova.
Andrei Spinu, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, has informed about this possibility during his visit to Transelectrica. "We have agreed on the next steps to make OPCOM the operator of the electricity market in our country," Andrei Spinu wrote on his social network page. He noted that in Bucharest he had a meeting with the chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of Romania, Marcel Ciolacu, with whom he discussed the Romanian ruling coalition's support for energy and infrastructure projects. The Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister also spoke with the president of the Romanian Senate, Alina Gorghiu, and received assurances that Moldova can count on Romania's full support. Andrei Spinu discussed with the head of the Romanian Transport and Infrastructure Ministry, Sorin Grindeanu, the construction of new bridges and railroads across the Prut River.
