Moldova and Romania have discussed cooperation in the energy sector, including nuclear energy, as well as Romanian investments in our country's energy sector.

Andrei Spinu, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, said he discussed the main bilateral priorities in the field of energy during a meeting with Romanian Energy Minister Virgil Popescu in Bucharest. In particular, the sides discussed the supply of gas and electric energy; interconnection of high voltage power lines Balti-Suceava, Romanian investments in Moldova's energy sector and cooperation in the nuclear energy sector. Also, Andrei Spinu and other members of the Moldovan delegation held meetings with representatives of the main Romanian energy companies: Nuclearelectrica, Romgaz, OMV Petrom, Transelectrica and Hidroelectrica. "I have repeatedly said that the energy security of our country can only be ensured through and with the help of Romania. Thank you for all your support and I am sure we will do even more in 2023!" wrote Andrei Spinu on his social media page. For his part, Virgil Popescu noted that he and the Moldovan delegation, led by Andrei Spinu, had a fruitful dialogue based on good cooperation with Moldova, especially in the field of energy. "We tried to develop concrete cooperation projects between the two states for the near future, especially those that involve the energy union between Moldova and Romania.
