
Moldova and Romania have discussed cooperation in the energy sector, including nuclear energy, as well as Romanian investments in our country's energy sector.
Andrei Spinu, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, said he discussed the main bilateral priorities in the field of energy during a meeting with Romanian Energy Minister Virgil Popescu in Bucharest. In particular, the sides discussed the supply of gas and electric energy; interconnection of high voltage power lines Balti-Suceava, Romanian investments in Moldova's energy sector and cooperation in the nuclear energy sector. Also, Andrei Spinu and other members of the Moldovan delegation held meetings with representatives of the main Romanian energy companies: Nuclearelectrica, Romgaz, OMV Petrom, Transelectrica and Hidroelectrica. "I have repeatedly said that the energy security of our country can only be ensured through and with the help of Romania. For his part, Virgil Popescu noted that he and the Moldovan delegation, led by Andrei Spinu, had a fruitful dialogue based on good cooperation with Moldova, especially in the field of energy.
