Moldova will take a number of measures to prevent emergencies in the country's electricity system.
In particular, the Administrative Council of the National Agency for Energy Regulation ordered system operators and electricity producers to take measures to prevent emergencies in the electricity system of Moldova in the event of possible emergency shutdowns. As noted, to investigate the circumstances of the emergency shutdown on November 23, 2022, NAER previously created an investigation commission with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, system operators and electricity producers, which from December 5 to December 16, 2022 studied the causes, circumstances and actions to restore power supply, and also identified the problems faced by electric utilities. The results of the study were presented in a report that identified the necessary measures to be implemented to prevent emergencies in the electricity system of Moldova. In this regard, by the approved resolution of the NAER Administrative Council, electric power companies were ordered to take measures to develop an agreement on cooperation between the operators of electricity transmission systems in Moldova, Romania and Ukraine, update instructions for interaction between system operators, instructions for eliminating accidents, as well as other technical measures. NAER stated that, in fulfilling its duties of energy supervision, it will continue to monitor compliance by electricity companies with the provisions of the regulatory and technical framework in order to eliminate the prerequisites for emergency shutdowns and prevent emergencies in the electricity system of Moldova.// 06.01.2023 — InfoMarket
