Moldova: In 2022, the minimum retail price of gasoline COR 95 will be 21.3 lei per liter, the maximum - 33.9 lei, and the annual average - 26.55 lei per liter.

The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) announced such data while presenting the dynamics of maximum retail prices for basic standard-type petroleum products in 2022. According to ANRE, the minimum price for gasoline COR 95 this year amounted to 21.30 lei/liter (03.01.2022); the maximum price - 33.90 lei/liter (15.06.2022); the average annual price - 26.55 lei/liter. For standard diesel fuel the minimum price was 17.73 lei/liter (03.01.2022); the maximum price - 32.46 lei/liter (23.06.2022); the annual average price - 26.02 lei/liter. ANRE stressed that in 2022 the fuel market was strongly influenced by the following factors: the war in Ukraine; changes in supply sources and logistics routes; sanctions imposed by the international community against Russia; and general uncertainty in oil markets. These aspects had a strong influence on oil and refined products prices at the international level, which had a direct impact on prices in Moldova. As a result, there were two strong waves of price increases during the year (March-April and June-July) when the highest fuel prices in the country's history were also recorded. At the same time, during certain periods the price of diesel fuel was atypically higher compared to gasoline. According to the energy regulator, due to collective efforts of the European Union and the "G7" countries, fuel prices began to decrease by the second half of this year. By the end of December, they dropped below the annual average by 4.07 lei per liter (15%) for gasoline and, respectively, by 2.80 lei per liter (11%) for diesel fuel. In accordance with the dynamics of international quotations at the end of the year, the following maximum retail prices for basic standard-type petroleum products as of December 30, 2022 have been set by ANRE: petrol COR 95 - 22.48 lei/liter (+8 bani); standard diesel - 23.22 lei/liter (-5 bani). The National Energy Regulatory Agency says the methodology used to determine the prices for petroleum products is fully effective, including during the crisis, and assures consumers that the prices are influenced exclusively by objective factors, such as international market conditions or dynamics of the exchange rate, excluding the possibility for oil companies to interfere in the process of making them. // 29.12.2022 – InfoMarket
